Hahn Loeser’s Partner-In-Charge in San Diego Voted on to Volunteer Lawyer Program’s Board of Directors

Michael J. Gleason, partner-in-charge of the Hahn Loeser & Parks LLP San Diego office, has been selected to serve on the board of directors of San Diego Volunteer Lawyer Program (SDVLP) through a unanimous vote by SDVLP’s Board.

“I am truly honored to serve on the board of San Diego Volunteer Lawyer Program,” said Gleason. “I look forward to working closely with each board member and all of our volunteers to continue the vital community services SDVLP provides.

A private, non-profit organization, SDVLP is the county’s oldest and most comprehensive pro bono legal services program. It serves the most vulnerable members of the San Diego community: the homeless, abused children, domestic violence victims, elder abuse victims, veterans, immigrants and those with HIV/AIDS. Notably, more than 75% of SDVLP’s clients are women and children.

“I am thrilled that Mike (Gleason) has agreed to join the board of directors of San Diego Volunteer Lawyer Program,” said Amy Fitzpatrick, chief executive officer of the SDVLP. “He brings talent, energy and a new perspective that will be enormously helpful in advancing our mission in serving disadvantaged residents of San Diego.”

Gleason, who is also co-chair of Hahn Loeser’s San Diego litigation practice group, defends and represents companies in complex litigation, including the defense of consumer class actions. In addition, Gleason established the firm’s practice related to Proposition 65, also known as also known as California’s Safe Drinking Water and Toxic Enforcement Act, after recognizing a growing need from his clients for counseling in this area. Gleason represents numerous clients on Proposition 65 issues – providing companies with compliance advice and defending those companies that are allegedly in non-compliance with this California state law.
