Hahn Loeser & Parks is pleased to announce Erica L. Calderas will be inducted into the Crain’s Cleveland Business Women of Note Class of 2017 on July 18, 2017.
Crain’s Women of Note award shines a spotlight on 16 prestigious women who not only are leaders at their companies and organizations but who also have made a difference in Northeast Ohio, making it a better place to live and work. This program features the honorees’ tales of sacrifice and initiative that provide motivation, inspiration and insight to others.
Calderas was selected for this honor after sharing her story about making her mark at Hahn Loeser, in the courtroom and in Cleveland. At Hahn Loeser, she has become a successful litigator with over 22 years of experience, a member of the firm’s Board of Directors, champion and mentor to her fellow women attorneys, a member of the firm’s diversity committee, and has been highly involved in the firm’s Women’s Leadership Initiative. In the Cleveland community, she has served on the board for the “Summer on the Cuyahoga” program, which exposes the best young talent to the abundance of professional opportunities in Northeast Ohio. She has also been actively involved in various leadership positions with the American Bar Association’s Section of Litigation throughout her career for the advancement of the legal profession.
“I could not have achieved all that I have without such a supportive husband,” said Calderas. “Juggling a busy litigation practice and ensuring I have time for my family takes teamwork. I volunteer whenever I can to help with school activities for our two children, but even they are quick to encourage me to do what I need to do to help my clients succeed.”
Stanley R. Gorom, Cleveland Partner-In-Charge, stated, “On behalf of Hahn Loeser, we are very proud of Erica’s commitment to her clients and her community. We are very excited for her to receive this well-deserved award.”
Calderas focuses her practice on complex commercial litigation and class action defense. She has significant experience representing entities of varying size, both as plaintiffs and as defendants in state and federal trial and appellate courts. She has successfully defended “bet-the-company” cases in a wide variety of actions, such as business torts, contract disputes and consumer protection claims.
Calderas earned her J.D. from Northwestern University School of Law and an A.B with distinction in all subjects from Cornell University.
