Hahn Loeser Intellectual Property Partner Sherry Rollo joined an international panel of speakers to discuss “Various Legal Issues in the Digital Urban Landscape: Art, Design, Multimedia, and AI for Future Cities,” during the 2025 Licensing Executives Society International (LESI) Annual Conference in Singapore.
The panel went into the heart of the Smart Digital Renaissance, where the boundaries of art, design, multimedia, AI, and urban innovation collide, navigating the evolving landscape of IP in the context of smart cities and cutting-edge creativity. Attendees were given a sample of how IP issues play out when AI-generated designs reshape urban spaces, digital art transforms public installations, and multimedia interacts with city infrastructure. Speakers examined Copyright Conundrums in data-driven public art, Patent Paradoxes in smart technologies, Design Dilemmas in urban aesthetics, and Trademark Tangles in immersive experiences, along with privacy concerns surrounding data collection in smart environments, the delicate balance between individual rights and the benefits of a connected urban experience.
Sherry was joined on the panel by IP attorneys from Hungary, South Korea, Germany and Italy. over three days, the LESI Conference brought together key players in the technology licensing industry and businesses which are leading a digital transformation.
