Peter Katsaros Joins Hahn Loeser’s Litigation Practice as Partner in Chicago

Hahn Loeser & Parks LLP announced today that Peter M. Katsaros will join its Litigation Practice area as a partner in the firm’s Chicago office.

With a civil litigation practice spanning nearly four decades, Katsaros has experience with multi-million dollar commercial, tort and employment litigation for both plaintiffs and defendants. He has been lead trial counsel in more than 30 trials and 16 appeals, and has managed litigation matters in 20 states. His litigation practice includes experience with complex civil litigation, antitrust, breach of contract and restrictive covenant, tortious interference, business torts, fiduciary duties, fraud and misrepresentation, product liability and defamation. Additionally, Katsaros has unique experience with Internet litigation and has managed several cases concerning online defamation.

In addition to his substantial commercial litigation practice, Katsaros regularly represents businesses, unions, pension funds and individuals in a variety of labor and employment litigation matters. In this practice, he has handled claims of age, race and retaliation employment discrimination, Title VII national origin employment discrimination, federal pregnancy discrimination, quid pro quo sexual harassment, wrongful dismissal and defamation, and hostile work environment/sex and age discrimination. Katsaros has also prosecuted and defended unions in a number of lost profits claims. He also has experience litigating ERISA/RICO claims.

Katsaros serves as a faculty member for the National Institute of Trial Advocacy, teaching Jury Trial Practice, Deposition Practice, Negotiation, Mediation and Alternative Dispute Resolution. He also teaches at Northwestern University Law School as an Adjunct Professor of Trial Advocacy and Legal Ethics. His expertise in his field is widely recognized, as he has published articles on jury instructions in fraud cases and on defamation.

Katsaros is co-founder and principal of Speaking Legally, Inc., an Illinois MCLE consulting firm that provides public speaking skills to lawyers and professionals nationally, and of Speaking Freely, Inc., a provider of performance-based public speaking workshops.

Katsaros earned his J.D. from the University of Chicago and University of Illinois, and received his B.A. in economics from Indiana University. Prior to Hahn Loeser, Katsaros was a partner at Golan Christie Taglia for the last 10 years. He is a Martindale-Hubbell AV Preeminent® rated attorney, and was named a “Leading Lawyer” in Commercial Litigation, Employment Litigation, Computer and Technology Law by the Leading Lawyers Network (Illinois).
