Hahn Loeser & Parks LLP is proud to announce that Best Lawyers® has selected Partner Aaron S. Evenchik as 2025 “Lawyer of the Year,” for Litigation – Real Estate within the Cleveland, Ohio area. Only one attorney in each specific practice area and designated metropolitan location is honored as the “Lawyer of the Year,” due to their highest overall rating from peer feedback. Gaining his first “Lawyer of the Year” honor, Evenchik was also recognized in the 2025 Edition of The Best Lawyers in America© in six practice areas in 2025 (Commercial Litigation, Construction Law, Land Use and Zoning Law, Litigation – Construction, Litigation – Real Estate, and Real Estate Law).
Evenchik serves as national chair of Hahn Loeser’s Real Estate group. He also practices in construction, and zoning law, representing clients in both transactional and litigation matters. A partner at Hahn Loeser since 2017, Evenchik has also been recognized by ChambersUSA, and Super Lawyers Rising Stars. Hahn Loeser’s construction practice was ranked 26th by Construction Executive magazine among the nation’s Top 50 Construction Law Firms. He recently served as lead counsel, securing a $7.9 million judgment for a client in a fraud dispute in New York. Earlier this year, another general contractor client received a $1.5 million arbitration award.
Evenchik provides seminars and lectures to industry groups including the Ohio Contractor’s Association, Construction Employers Association, Home Builders Association, and individualized client training dozens of time per year.
Starting his Cleveland career as in-house counsel with Gross Residential (formally Gross Builders), Evenchik was mentored by the company ownership on the proper way to pursue real estate development, from property identification, entitlements, due diligence, zoning, and loan closing. While at Gross, he also participated in zoning litigation for the first time and caught the “litigation bug.” Evenchik maintains a significant zoning practice, including the negotiation of several recent zoning revisions within the City of Beachwood.
Evenchik transitioned to a law firm in 2008 where he was trained in litigation/arbitration. Within the last two years, Evenchik has prevailed at several critical trials and arbitrations including; having a $16MM lien declared void in Florida and obtaining a $2.5MM jury verdict from a Cuyahoga County jury.
Evenchik also remains deeply involved in client land acquisitions and negotiates both purchase agreements and construction contracts regularly (including a construction contract valued in the hundreds of millions of dollars). He and Hahn Loeser also provide pro-bono council to Friendship Circle and Chabad on Campus at Ohio State University.
In addition to his legal practice, Evenchik serves on several boards including the Cleveland Jewish News Foundation board, Hebrew Academy of Cleveland board, Council Gardens board, ACE Cleveland board (ACE Cleveland provides career pathways to children from historically disadvantaged schools into careers in architecture, construction and engineering), and Cleveland Jewish Federation CRC. He is a graduate of Orange High School, and twice at The Ohio State University (BS Civil Engineering and law). Evenchik and his wife Courtney of 25 years have four children.
“I am deeply honored and humbled to receive this award,” Evenchik said. “I work to make my family and community proud.”
