This was a bet the company case for the client. Jury returned a verdict in favor of Tesar Industrial Contractors against Republic Steel. The jury awarded Tesar damages totaling $4.2 million (500,000 of which Republic paid out directly to certain of Tesar’s subcontractors right before trial and then tried to recover back in its counterclaim) and awarded nothing to Republic on its counterclaims, which totaled $6 million at the start of the trial.
