Stronger Foundations. Thriving Communities.
Our Commitment
Helping Hahns
At Hahn Loeser, our commitment to excellence doesn’t stop at the courtroom door. Through our Helping Hahns initiative, we translate our firm’s values into tangible action, fostering vibrant communities where everyone has the opportunity to succeed.
Our Philosophy: Civic-Minded. Action-Oriented.
Since our founding in 1920, Hahn Loeser has recognized that our firm’s strength is inextricably linked to the health of the communities we serve. Community involvement is not just a corporate responsibility—it is a strategic pillar of our culture. We believe that by investing our time, talent, and resources, we help build a more equitable and prosperous future for all.
The Heart of Our Outreach
Helping Hahns is the rallying cry for our firm’s collective philanthropic efforts. It represents the hands-on spirit of our attorneys and staff who step outside their professional roles to serve as mentors, board members, volunteers, and advocates.
What We Do:
Strategic Board Leadership:
Our professionals serve on the boards of leading nonprofits, providing the governance and strategic oversight necessary for these organizations to fulfill their missions.
Pro Bono Advocacy:
We provide high-level legal counsel to those who need it most, ensuring that the protection of the law is accessible to everyone in our community.
Hands-On Service:
From local food banks to neighborhood revitalization projects, “Helping Hahns” puts boots on the ground to address immediate community needs.
Investing in the Future:
We support educational initiatives and youth mentorship programs that empower the next generation of leaders.
United by Purpose
Our community involvement is the natural extension of our commitment to Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion. We understand that true inclusion requires active engagement with the diverse segments of our society. By supporting minority-owned businesses, diverse suppliers, and community-based organizations, we help drive innovation and economic development from the ground up.
Leading by Example
We don’t just practice law; we participate in the progress of our cities. Whether we are navigating complex legal challenges or volunteering at a local community center, the goal remains the same: to deliver superior results that benefit everyone.
Supporting Our Communities Through Signature Campaigns
At Hahn Loeser, we believe that firm-wide participation in major community initiatives is one of the most effective ways to drive meaningful change. We are proud to be long-term supporters of two of the region’s most impactful annual campaigns:
The United Way
Hahn Loeser has a deep-rooted relationship with the United Way, particularly the United Way of Greater Cleveland and the United Way of Collier County. Our attorneys and staff participate in annual workplace campaigns, consistently showing their generosity through financial contributions and volunteer leadership.
- Leadership & Advocacy:
Members of our firm have served on United Way boards and committees, helping to steward charitable contributions toward the areas of greatest need, including healthcare access, education, and financial stability. - Pro Bono Collaboration:
We have also partnered with United Way-funded initiatives, such as the Private Tenant-Landlord Project with the Legal Aid Society, to provide pro bono legal services to vulnerable members of our community.
Harvest for Hunger
Food insecurity is a critical issue in our backyards, and Hahn Loeser is a dedicated partner in the annual Harvest for Hunger campaign. As one of the largest community-wide food and funds drives in the nation, this initiative supports local food banks (including the Greater Cleveland Food Bank and the Akron-Canton Regional Foodbank) to provide millions of meals to those in need.
- Creative Workplace Giving:
Our offices engage in friendly internal competitions and creative fundraising events to exceed our annual goals. - Impactful Results: We recognize that every dollar raised can help provide multiple nutritious meals. By mobilizing our team during the spring campaign, we help ensure that local food pantries, hot meal sites, and shelters remain stocked for families, seniors, and children.
DEI in Action
Mansfield Rule Certification
To underscore our Firm’s commitment to diversity and inclusion, we participated in the Mansfield Rule Certification for Mid-Size firms through Diversity Lab for the period September 2021 through March 2023. The certification process aims to increase and sustain diversity in leadership within law firms by broadening the pool of historically underrepresented attorneys, including women, racial and/or ethnic minorities, LGBTQ+ lawyers, and lawyers with disabilities who are considered for Firm leadership and governance roles, equity partner promotions, formal client pitch opportunities, and senior lateral positions. We are pleased to announce that we were awarded Mansfield certification in May 2023 and Mansfield Certification Plus recognition in both 2024 and 2025.
DEI in Recruiting
At Hahn Loeser, we value diversity and treat all employees and candidates based on merit, qualifications, competence, and talent. We do not discriminate on the basis of race, religion, color, national origin, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, age, marital status, veteran status, or disability status. We actively seek a wide diversity of talented individuals to join our team. Please contact recruitment@hahnlaw.com, if you are interested in pursuing a career at Hahn Loeser.
Gender Equity in the Legal Industry
The Firm is proud to be a founding member of Cleveland’s Gender Equity in the Legal Industry (GELI) Forum, a collaboration of local law firms committed to identifying and addressing gender inequities at private law firms.
Hahn Loeser’s Family Program
The Firm fully supports its personnel in maintaining their career goals when they become parents. The Firm’s Family Program assists parents during their transition to and from parental leave to ensure their success upon their return to work. Among other things, the Firm pairs new parents with a peer mentor to provide support and advocacy before, during, and after they return from parental leave.
Supplier Diversity
Hahn Loeser’s commitment to diversity and inclusion does not stop at our doors, but extends into our communities through, among other things, our engagement of diverse and inclusive suppliers. Hahn Loeser participates in the Greater Cleveland Partnership’s Inclusion Marketplace and other similar organizations in our various markets to identify diverse suppliers that may meet our needs. That includes supporting economic development efforts and tapping into a diverse pool of external suppliers. We support and entrust our Firm to the care of these businesses that, in turn, help our communities to thrive. If you would like to be considered to join our network of suppliers, please contact our Director of Facilities, Rob Cundiff at rscundif@hahnlaw.com. We welcome all inquiries.
Our Commitment
Hahn Loeser recognized from its very start more than a century ago that our differences, when combined, are our great strengths. We remain committed to our founding principles, as it has never been more essential to build and maintain a supportive and inclusive workplace culture to drive client engagement, personal and professional satisfaction, and continued innovation.
