Led by partner Jonathan C. Wolnik, Hahn Loeser’s Mergers & Acquisitions team successfully guided Hennes Communications through its sale to AKCG – Public Relations Counselors. The deal team also included Ann E. Knuth and C. Daniel Miller.
Founded in 1989 and based in Cleveland, Ohio, Hennes Communications provides a full suite of crisis management and crisis communications services, including pre-crisis support, media training and litigation communications support. Now operating as a division of AKCG, Hennes offers a deeper bench of experienced crisis communications counselors plus an enhanced suite of reputation management services.
“We are grateful to Hahn Loeser for working with us every step of the way,” said founder and former CEO Bruce Hennes. “We are a small professional services firm with only a few employees. We know that in the world of M&A, this was, comparatively speaking, a minor transaction. But having built this company from nothing more than three decades ago, it was my pride and joy. Jonathan and his team truly served as our knight in shining armor, making certain that all of our liabilities were identified and protected and ensuring that every opportunity going forward was realized. From start to finish, Jonathan made us feel like we were his only client.”
AKCG PR is headquartered in Glassboro, NJ, with an additional location in Washington, D.C. Since 1982, the firm has delivered public relations, crisis communications and reputation management services to independent schools, higher education, adult senior communities and healthcare industries and includes a team of more than 20 PR professionals building, preserving and restoring positive reputations.
In 2025, Hahn Loeser’s M&A team led 39 major transactions valued at more than $900 million, representing both buyers and sellers in complex deals.
