Sarah Dunkley is an experienced litigation attorney, having practiced in both federal and state courts in Australia and the United States in a variety of areas, including product liability matters, regulatory disputes, international arbitration, malpractice and professional liability actions, various class actions, construction litigation, insolvency/bankruptcy work, complex contract disputes and shareholder actions.

Sarah’s recent work and career interests have included:

• Representation of various employer entities in enforcing restrictive covenants and trade secret violations
• Monitoring and advising on the quickly shifting landscape of climate change legal challenges including though litigation filed in courts in the USA and globally, and in the governments’ responses passing legislation and regulations
• Representation of a technology company in a legal malpractice trial that resulted in a record verdict in that jurisdiction

Prior to joining Hahn Loeser, she was a senior associate with The Patterson Law Firm, LLC, where she had extensive trial experience and motion practice in State and Federal Courts. Before relocating to Chicago, Sarah gained experience with two large law firms, having spent three years as an associate with the litigation team at Squire Patton Boggs in Western Australia and four years as a litigation associate with Ashurst LLP, a multinational law firm with approximately 1600 attorneys.

After completing an LLM degree in International Comparative Law from the Robert H. McKinney School of Law where she was on the Dean’s list, Sarah gained experience in commercial litigation and class action disputes as a judicial extern at the Marion County Court in Indiana, and as a law clerk at Cohen and Malad, LLP.

Sarah started her legal career as the judicial clerk to the Hon. Justice Michael Murray at the Supreme Court of Western Australia.
