Phillip W. Hilliard focuses his legal practice on estate planning, trust administration, and estate administration and probate. He also works with clients on tax matters relating to trusts and estates, including income, gift, estate, property and generation-skipping taxes.
Phillip’s experience encompasses serving clients with moderate wealth as well as high net worth clients throughout all aspects of estate planning, such as the ongoing administration of a trust, the winding down and termination of a trust, estate administration and probate, and the preparation and filing of estate and gift tax returns. His other estate-planning experience includes drafting durable powers of attorney, health care directives, wills, revocable trusts and irrevocable life insurance trusts; wealth transfer planning; charitable gift planning; beneficiary designation planning; and estate planning for same-sex couples.
Phillip has experience representing clients during audits on complex estate tax returns, as well as advising and assisting fiduciaries and beneficiaries on their obligations, responsibilities, and rights during the administration of trusts and estates.
