James C. Lanigan is an Associate in the firm’s litigation area. He focuses his practice on business litigation and complex commercial disputes and has counseled clients in a wide variety of matters in state and federal courts, including contract disputes, bankruptcy proceedings, creditors’ rights disputes, business tort and negligence claims, insurance coverage issues, construction litigation and general construction disputes, and copyright and patent infringement matters. James is fully involved in all aspects of case development and trial preparation and has argued motions and appellate matters in courts throughout Ohio, including in Ohio’s Eighth District Court of Appeals. He has extensive experience developing pleadings, engaging in and managing discovery, researching and drafting dispositive motions and briefs, negotiating settlements, drafting settlement and confidentiality agreements, and drafting appellate briefs. He has represented a wide array of clients, including individual business owners, corporate boards of directors, debtors-in-possession, secured creditors, insurers, and others.

Before joining Hahn Loeser, James served as a judicial extern for Chief Judge Solomon Oliver, Jr., in the United States District Court for the Northern District of Ohio.
