Versatile Helicopters, Inc.

Hahn Loeser represented Canada-based Versatile Helicopters, Inc. in its lawsuit against the City of Columbus, based on a breach of contract and warranty in the sale of a Columbus Police Department helicopter to Versatile. At the September 2012 trial, Hahn Loeser secured a jury verdict against the City in the amount of approximately $380,000, the total amount of Versatile’s damages. In December of 2013, the Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals affirmed the trial court’s decision to allow the case to go to the jury, and reversed the trial court’s decision which reduced the award down to $250,000 based on pleading technicalities. The Court of Appeals’ decision re-instated the jury’s original verdict and represented a complete victory for Hahn Loeser’s client.
