As Chair of the Cleveland Museum of Art’s Planned Giving Council, Steve Gariepy hosted two special teleconferences, Children and Charity, for donors and professional advisors in October 2005. These live satellite teleconferences explored estate planning techniques that offer peace of mind to parents and benefits to both children and charities. The programs were designed to help donors and professional advisors think through some of the important questions to be asked and answered when creating one’s estate plan: How much should be left to children? When and how should the transfers be made? How can the parents be fair to children and also remember organizations that have been meaningful to them? The teleconference was also presented in partnership with the Cleveland Museum of Natural History.
