The article describes how damaging it is when you lie about where money goes in a relationship. The results of the survey in this article show that people view it comparable to cheating. Alan Kopit comments on one statistic that nearly 1 in 4 (24%) believed so strongly in this principle that they said openness about money is more important then being faithful saying, “They’re saying, It’s one thing to fool around. It’s another thing to fool around with my hard-earned cash!”
