Heffner, Medina, Schwinghamer, Wartko & Webb Elected to Partnership at Hahn Loeser & Parks LLP

San Diego Office:

James Heffner is now a litigation partner in Hahn Loeser’s San Diego office. His practice primarily involves representation of businesses and individuals in complex litigation in state and federal court. He has particular experience in class actions, consumer claims, claims involving fiduciaries, general commercial litigation, real estate –related matters, and products liability.

Naples Office:

Jamie B. Schwinghamer focuses her legal practice in the areas of probate and trust litigation, guardianship and complex commercial litigation.  She provides clients with strategic counseling, business, and legal advice on a variety of matters including, but not limited to: will and trust contests, disputed estate and trust administrations, trust modification, revocation and termination, surcharge and removal proceedings, guardianships, guardianship litigation, business, commercial and real estate contracts, business transactions, business torts, shareholder and partnership disputes and appeals.

Cleveland Office:

Matthew Wartko  focuses his practice in the Construction Law Group and Litigation Practice Area. He is admitted to practice law in Ohio and before the United States District Court for the Northern and Southern Districts of Ohio. As part of the Construction Law Group, Matt has primarily represented owners, general contractors, subcontractors, and material suppliers in a variety of construction disputes both in the pre-litigation stage and in litigation, including handling mechanics’ lien and bond claims for public and private projects. Matt also has experience drafting and negotiating construction contracts.  Matt earned his J.D. from Case Western Reserve University School of Law, J.D., magna cum laude, 2007.

Sean E. Medina represents corporations of various size in complex commercial litigation and general litigation matters in state and federal trial and appellate courts. Sean has represented clients in industries as diverse as mining, healthcare and health insurance, title insurance and escrow, hospitality, and mortgage lending.  Representative litigation matters include breach of contract claims, healthcare provider payment and reimbursement matters, franchise disputes involving termination and trademark infringement, lender liability claims, and class action defense.

Sean also has substantial experience in high-stakes, statewide and nationwide class actions all over the country, including a victory in a multi-week class action bench trial. Sean has a successful track record of early victories achieved through defeat of class certification and securing dismissal of or summary judgment on the claims of the class representatives.

Sean was honored as an “Ohio Super Lawyers Rising Star,” for 2014-2016 by Ohio Super Lawyers.  Medina earned his J.D. from Cleveland-Marshall College of Law, 2007 and his B.A. from Bowling Green State University, History/Asian Studies, 2003.

Akron Office:

Nathan B. Webb focuses his practice in the Intellectual Property Litigation Practice Area. He has experience representing clients, in both the state and federal courts, in a wide variety of intellectual property disputes; including patent, trademark and copyright infringement lawsuits, domain name and trade secret litigation, and trademark opposition proceedings. He also advises clients in various pre-litigation matters, provides opinions of counsel (on either product clearance or patent infringement), and manages trademark and patent enforcement efforts. Nathan has extensive experience in intellectual property transactional matters, such as drafting patent and trademark licensing and assignment agreements, company patent procurement and protection polices, and non-competition and confidentiality agreements.

As a registered patent attorney, Nathan also has experience drafting and prosecuting patents in the mechanical, chemical, and biological arts. Before becoming a patent attorney, he was a professor managing Washburn Law School’s criminal appellate advocacy clinic, and an attorney at the Kansas Appellate Defender Office. He is admitted to practice in Ohio, Kansas (inactive), the United States Supreme Court, and the United States Patent and Trademark Office.
