Hahn Loeser & Parks LLP Elects Three Attorneys to Firm Partnership

Hahn Loeser & Parks LLP is pleased to announce John Paul Bratcher (Naples), Kyle T. Overs (San Diego), and Gregory Thompson (Cleveland) have been elected to the firm’s partnership effective January 1, 2021 based on their professional achievements, depth of legal experience and commitment to their clients.

Bratcher joins the partnership out of the firm’s Naples office. He counsels clients in the areas of estate and trust planning and administration, business law, and fiduciary litigation. He has extensive experience in all areas of estate and gift tax planning, from client development and intake through drafting, implementation and administration. Additionally, he assists clients with business law and business succession planning, including representation in sales and various other matters involving their businesses. Bratcher has been named Ones to Watch, Best Lawyers® Trusts and Estates, 2021. He earned his LL.M in Taxation, Certificate in Estate Planning, from Georgetown University in 2013. He received his J.D. from Ohio Northern University Pettit College of Law in 2012 and his B.A., cum laude, from Indiana Wesleyan University in 2008.

Overs, a member of the litigation team in the firm’s San Diego office, concentrates on complex business and trust litigation. He represents clients ranging from individuals, to limited liability companies, to Fortune 500 companies. He has extensive experience defending class action lawsuits involving consumer related claims, including California’s Unfair Competition Law, Consumers Legal Remedies Act, and the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act. He is a recipient of the State Bar of California’s Wiley M. Manual Certificate for Pro Bono Legal Services and the Outstanding Service Award from the Legal Aid Society of San Diego, and he serves as a Board Member of the San Diego County Bar Foundation. Overs has also been named Ones to Watch, Best Lawyers® Commercial Litigation, 2021 and as a Rising Star, San Diego Super Lawyers®, 2018-2020. He received his J.D., cum laude, from the University of Arizona in 2012 and his B.S. from Wake Forest University in 2009.

Thompson, based out of the firm’s Cleveland office, focuses his practice on complex commercial and construction litigation. He has first-chair experience handling non-compete disputes; shareholder, fiduciary, and business tort litigation; and contract disputes. On the construction side, he has handled breach of contract claims; construction defect disputes; claims for additional costs; delay claims; and pre-litigation claims management to mitigate risk. Thompson has been named a Rising Star, Ohio Super Lawyers® from 2018-2021 and America’s Top 100 Bet-the-Company Litigators®, 2019-2020. He earned his J.D., magna cum laude, from The University of Akron School of Law in 2012, where he was a staff editor for Akron Law Review and a two-year member of Akron’s nationally acclaimed mock trial program. He received his B.B.A, cum laude, from Ohio University in 2009.
