Hahn Loeser partner Stephen H. Gariepy was a featured speaker at the Ohio State Bar Association’s Annual Advanced Estate Planning Seminar on September 11, 2020. On account of COVID-19, this year’s program was presented for the first time ever as a webinar, with over 300 estate planning attorneys attending. Steve titled his topic, “A Plandemic of Wealth Transfer Opportunities.” His topic description: “Seven stars in our estate planning universe are aligned for unique opportunities for family wealth transfers. These seven stars are high gift/GST/estate exemptions, suppressed asset values, low interest rates, a wide array of powerful estate planning tools, ways to gift and not give it all away, ways to wait and see and unwind gifts, and highly motivated clients who want to lock in the temporary exemptions and trust options before they lose them.”
