Sonja C. Rice has been an attorney with Hahn Loeser since 2001. She is a member of the firm's Construction Law Practice Group and co-chair of the firm's Alternative Energy and Emerging Technologies Group.
Sonja’s practice focuses on negotiation of construction contracts at all levels, resolution of construction-related disputes, and negotiation of business process outsourcing agreements, with a particular emphasis on facilities management and real estate services.
Sonja acts as regional construction counsel to a Fortune 100 company and represents several large, privately-held contractors and owners in the United States. She has significant experience in all aspects of construction contract development and negotiation, including contracts involving “green” and sustainable construction issues, energy-savings performance contracting, and installation of alternative energy generation equipment.
Sonja serves on the board of trustees for the Asian American Bar Association of Ohio. She is a frequent speaker on a variety of construction-related topics, including contract terms and conditions, green construction, risk analysis, and claims avoidance.
Sonja also has been a professor of Appellate Practice at Case Western Reserve University School of Law.
Before joining Hahn Loeser, Sonja worked for the Ohio Bureau of Workers' Compensation.
