Biography
John J. Cunniff, a patent attorney, focuses his practice in intellectual property and technology, and patent, trademark, and copyright law. He spent seven years as a research associate for Amersham Pharmacia Biotech/US Biochemical Corporation, a major supplier of enzymes and reagents used in pharmaceutical research. He also worked for six years as a senior research associate at the Jackson Laboratory, a leading genetics research laboratory. John is well versed in preparing and prosecuting patent applications in the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office and worldwide through the World Intellectual Property Organization. He maintains management of national patent applications worldwide and is particularly experienced in the pharmaceutical industry. John earned his master’s degree in microbiology and an undergraduate degree in biology, prior to earning his law degree. He also holds a U.S. patent for Thermostable DNA Polymerase (#5,885,813).
