Charles W. Pugh is Of Counsel in the firm’s Cleveland office. Charlie represents clients in a wide range of complex corporate litigation, including contractual disputes, business torts, and the defense of consumer class actions. In all cases, Charlie strives to help clients resolve disputes efficiently and effectively. He is fully involved in all aspects of case development and trial preparation, arguing motions, engaging in arbitration, and taking and defending depositions in state and federal proceedings.
His commercial litigation practice has taken him to courts in a number of states, including Arizona, California, Delaware, Florida, Kentucky, Nebraska, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina and Texas.
Charlie has also been active on the pro bono front, representing clients in both state court and federal immigration court. Representative pro bono matters include:
- Winning a state court jury trial for a pro bono client in housing matter; delivering the opening statement, examining all witnesses, and preserving trial victory with an oral argument defeating defendant’s post-trial motion for relief.
- Successfully obtaining relief under United Nations Convention against Torture for pro bono Vietnamese citizen in removal proceedings in immigration court.
