Hahn Loeser & Parks Partner Craig Owen White has been reappointed to the Trade Advisory Committee on Africa (TACA) by Ambassador Robert Lighthizer, the United States Trade Representative (USTR). White has been serving since 2013.
The USTR has primary responsibility for developing and coordinating U.S. international trade policy and overseeing negotiations with other countries. TACA provides advice to the USTR in developing U.S. trade policy throughout sub-Saharan Africa. Trade advisory committees were established by Congress to provide an avenue for domestic private sector input into the trade negotiation process.
White also has leadership roles in several professional and civic organizations and was most recently named Vice Chair of the International Senior Lawyers Project (ISLP). Annually, as an ISLP volunteer, White presents a commercial law training program in Zambia, Zimbabwe and South Africa. White also serves on the executive committee of the Western Reserve Land Conservancy and frequently lectures internationally on issues of global commerce and enterprise governance.
At Hahn Loeser, White focuses on representing and counseling established and growth-oriented companies in mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, enterprise governance, financing and licensing issues both domestically and internationally. He has particular experience serving as primary outside corporate counsel to business enterprises and was listed in the 2017 and 2018 editions of The Best Lawyers in America in the category of Corporate Governance & Compliance Law, and in the 2004-06 & 2010-16 editions of Ohio Super Lawyers.
