Within the summer program,
each summer associate has the advantage of two
attorney mentors to help them get the most out of
the 12-week experience. Each associate, after being
with the Firm for approximately one year, is
assigned a long-term mentor. This mentor is a senior
associate or partner who can assist the associate
with his or her professional development. In
addition, associates are encouraged to work with a
variety of partners to explore different approaches
to legal skills, practice management and rainmaking
skills. The practice areas also provide a number of
in-house training opportunities.
Also, some of our practice
areas have a partner who serves as assignment
coordinator. The role of the assignment coordinator
is to regulate workflow and ensure, to the extent
possible, that each associate has work that will
appropriately allow them to build well-rounded legal
skills.
These programs, combined
with our open-door atmosphere, provide associates
with the training and mentoring necessary to develop
a successful legal career.
